My TTC Must Haves

As you go through your TTC (trying to conceive) journey, I’m sure you’ll amass a handful of products you just can’t live without. Not that anyone asked, but in case you’re wondering, here’s a list of my tried and true TTC must-haves for any woman going through fertility treatments.

Pregmate OPK Tests

Ovulation Predictor Kit (OPK) tests are something you’ll be running through a lot. There are many brands out there like Clearblue and Modern Fertility, but these strips from Pregmate are my absolute favorite! Clearblue tests run want-to-be-moms $40 for a pack of 20, while Pregmate charges $21.95 (at the time of this writing) for a pack of 100! Even if you suck at math, like I do, you know there’s no comparison here.

Just like the OPK tests will cost you money, so too will pregnancy tests! You’re probably well aware there are many brands out there, like Clearblue that will run you $16.94 for a 4-pack and First Response that costs $13.67 for a 3-pack. It can get pricey, pretty fast! But these Pregmate test strips are $15.95 for 50. Much more affordable.

Sunbeam Gray Portable Heating Pad for Women trying to conceive

Sunbeam Portable Heating Pad

The gratitude I have for this product is unbelievable! I knew I was going to be uncomfortable after I had my hysteroscopy, so we bought a water heating pad (not even thinking of how would I get hot water on the go, LOL). When I was in pain and needed something now, my husband went to Target and found this Sunbeam Heating Pad. It retails for $74.99 (on sale right now for $64.99) on Amazon and is worth every. Single. Penny. And more! The beauty of this is that you can bring it with you wherever you go! I flew home the same day I had surgery and this came in absolute clutch for me.

Basal Body Temperature Thermometer from Amazon for ovulation prediction and women trying to conceive

Basal Body Thermometer

If you’re planning on charting your Basal Body Temperature, this is a great and super affordable thermometer for it! it’s accurate to 1/100th of a degree, has over 10,000 reviews, a 4.5 star rating on Amazon, AND best of all? Only costs $9.99! Plus, it has an accompanying app to help you chart with ease.

Making Babies by Sami S. David and Jill Blakeway Book Cover

Making Babies by Sami S. David & Jill Blakeway

This is honestly, my holy grail and fertility bible. It was recommended to me in a support group and I am so thankful. I like reading hardback books ($24.99), but I wanted to read this immediately (after reading the book description) so I got it on Kindle ($13.99) instead. Let me tell you, this book is such an eye-opener. Best of all, it will give you hope. After failing two IUIs, my mind started to tell my heart that I couldn’t conceive. This book has totally changed my outlook for the better and has motivated me to do the most, so I can achieve my dreams of becoming a mother.

A Comfy Pair of Sweats

From your assessment tests to your IUIs to whatever surgeries you might have to endure, you are going to be crampy and kind of a lot! And, if youʻve ever had a cramp in your life (which, if you’re reading this chances are 99.9% you have) you know you just want maximum comfort at all times. I bought this pair from Zara ($27.90) and they have accompanied me on many a fertility clinic trip. If you don’t already have a pair of sweats you love (or are looking for an excuse to get new ones) I highly recommend these!

Madewell Black Cashmere Hoodie for women trying to conceive

Madewell Cashmere Hoodie

To go along with my comfy sweats, I also bought a sweater from Madewell to match (I wasn’t a fun of the matching Zara one). And, while this isn’t the exact one that I bought, it’s very similar. My favorite thing about this? The fabric! Cashmere just screams comfortable. And though it has a little bit of a heftier price tag ($100+ for this hoodie), the goal for me was being comfortable and cute, LOL. Plus, pieces like this are timeless and can stay in your wardrobe forever!
